Petra Espinoza Martinez

- Petra Espinoza Martinez of Kingsville, Texas was born in Seguin, Texas on April 29, 1916 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 4, 2007 at the age of 91. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Petra worked as a business woman, homemaker, and was a close friend to many.
Petra is survived by her children; son, Alfredo Martinez and his wife Maria and son Edwardo; daughter, Adelfa Chabolla, her husband Royce Beeson and children Georgina Ann Perez; daughter, Anita M. Chandler and her children, Phillip Anthony Chandler, Cynthia Ann Benadict, Jeffery Enzo Chandler, and Sean Donovan Chandler; son, Armando A. Martinez and wife Carmelita, and children, Marcos Espiridion Martinez and Malorie Ann Martinez; daughter, Agedita R. Taylor and children, Reginald Vincent Taylor and Christian Nathaniel Taylor; 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Herlinda Davila; nephew, Juan Solis; nieces, Esther Frost, Norma Espinoza Quintanilla, and Nelda C. Oberheu; and numerous other family and friends.
Petra was preceded in death by her loving husband, Espiridion Martinez; parents, Pedro and Concepcion Espinoza; and son, Alejandro Guadalupe Martinez.
A visitation was held at Palmer Mortuary all day, Sunday, October 7, 2007 beginning at 8:00 a.m. and lasting until 9:00 p.m. The Holy Rosary was recited on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Palmer Mortuary Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with interment following in Santo Tomas Cemetery.
