Juanita “Janie” A. Truan

- Juanita “Janie” A. Truan, a life long resident of Kingsville, TX, passed away on October 4, 2007 at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 6, 1933 in Kingsville, TX to Gayatano and Anastacia Quintanilla Alvarez.
Mrs. Truan was a retired home health provider where she dedicated her love, care, and compassion to those in need. She always brightened up every room or person with her beautiful smile, sense of humor, and positive love and energy. It was hard not to enjoy yourself around her as she was a magnificent, loving person.
Mrs. Truan was preceded to Heaven by her loving husband of 36 years, Mike F. Truan, Sr., the late brother of former State Senator Carlos Truan, her daughters, Olivia Deanda and Yolanda Burt, her brother, Encarnacion Alvarez, and her parents, Gayatano and Anastasia Alvarez. Mrs. Truan has left behind many loved ones who will keep close to their hearts all her love and memories.
Mrs. Truan is survived by four sons, Michael Truan, Jr., Julio P. Deanda, and Joe R. (Samantha) Truan, all of Kingsville, TX and Eloy (Yolanda) Deanda of Harlingen, TX, three daughters, Cindy Truan and Diana Deanda, both of Kingsville, TX and Debbie (David) Martinez of Bishop, TX, one sister, Maria Luisa (Rogelio) Tapia of Kingsville, TX, one brother, Alejandro (Lilly) Alvarez of Kingsville, TX, 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her wonderful home health provider, Maria Ceballos whom she loved and considered a daughter.
Visitation was held from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Final visitation will be at 8:30 AM on Monday, October 8, 2007 followed by funeral procession to a celebration of life through Holy Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Martin’s Catholic Church with Fr. Isidoro Garcia as celebrant. Mrs. Truan will be laid to rest aside her husband at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
