Bobby White

- Bobby White passed away on September 24, 2007, after a short illness. Bob was born in Livingston, Texas, on January 18, 1925. His college career at Sam Houston was interrupted when he joined the military during World War II, but he came back and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. After 35 years with Exxon, Bob retired in 1982 and formed the Bob White Fire and Safety Company where he traveled around South Texas installing, inspecting, and servicing fire extinguishers and visiting with old and new friends. For 45 years Bob was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Bishop where he lovingly served as treasurer and in various other positions.
He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick White; and mother, Betty (DeDe) Hennington Hobson.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Laurine Rust White; children, Cheryl Ditsler, LaNell Hester, Debbie and Billy Griffith; grandchildren, Aimee Ditsler and Brad Pavlicek, Tonya Ditsler and James Patrick, BJ and Andy Griffith, JaNell Hester; and great grandchildren, Madeline and Hunter Pavlicek.
A memorial service was held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at First United Methodist Church in Bishop, Texas.
