She was born Dec. 6, 1911, to Pedro and Ignacia Flores Vega in Kingsville. She was a homemaker and retired teacher. She received her bachelor’s in elementary education in May 1976 at age 65 and received a master’s in early childhood education at age 67. She taught for Crystal City ISD and at St. Anthony in Robstown. Survivors include two daughters, Maria Brunilda Montalvo of 29 Palms, Calif., Margarita Salazar of Kingsville; two sons, Pedro Eustaquio (Patricia) Montalvo of Sacramento, Calif., Oscar (Isabel) Montalvo; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 9 at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home in Kingsville. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home Chapel B. A funeral Mass will be held from 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Puthenangady officiating. Burial will follow at Kingsville Resthaven Cemetery. |
