She was born Aug. 20, 1937, to Van Buren Smith Sr. and Threcy Campbell Smith in Cuero.
She attended Frederick Douglass School in Kingsville.
Caesar was a member of King Star Baptist Church and a former member of the church choir.
Survivors include one daughter, LaShaundra Caesar of San Antonio; three brothers, Van Buren (Elizabeth) Smith Jr. of Corpus Christi, Frederick D. Smith of Houston and Erich (Eva) Smith of Kingsville; three sisters, Josie L. Coleman and Sally M. Bailey, both of Kingsville, and Erna (James) Harris of San Antonio.
Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 27 at King Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl Jackson officiating.
Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville.
