She was a veteran of World War II having served in the W.A.V.E.S. as Yeoman 1st Class. She attended college at the University of Texas in Austin, where she met and married her loving husband of 59 years, Zackary D. Hill, Sr. She and Zack lived a fun and adventurous life moving 14 times during his career with Sears & Roebuck, Co. Survivors include her husband, Zack; one son, Zackary D. (Nancy) Hill Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three daughters; Sharon (Jimmy) Gentry; Glenda (Frank) Tate; and Cynthia (Wes) Prater, all of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Hertha Kaiser of Bishop and Norma Rilling of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation was held July 23 at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. A funeral service was held July 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wichita Falls with Vicar Jeremiah Heydt, officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls. Memorials may be made to The Gables at Rolling Meadows or Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a member. |
