She was born Dec. 28. 1928, to Manuel and Aurora E. Tijerina in Kingsville.
She retired from the Corpus Christi Independent School District.
Survivors include her husband Marcos Perez of Corpus Christi; four children, Melinda (Gary) Boldt of Donna, Mark A. (Rebecca) Perez, of Corpus Christi, Melissa (Luis) Cuellar of Corpus Christi, Manuel David (Sandra) Perez of Corpus Christi; daughter-in-law, Minerva Perez; nine brothers and sisters, Manuel (Doreen) Tijerina Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., Humberto (Rose) Tijerina of Corpus Christi, Irma (Romeo) Saenz of Corpus Christi, Amparo (Frank) Montoya of Corpus Christi, Grace (Valdemar) Delgado of Kingsville, Romanita (Abel) Gonzales of San Antonio, Ramon Tijerina of Corpus Christi, Rosa Maria (Basil) Granato of Kingsville, and Christina (Mike) Arredondo of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 8 at Memorial Funeral Home in Corpus Christi with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. July 9 at St. Martin Catholic Church in Kingsville.
Burial will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery in Kingsville.
