He was born April 30, 1937, in Kingsville, to Luis Amador Sr., and Dolores Varela.
Along with his parents, Mr. Amador is preceded in death by his wife, Eulogia Ambriz, his son, Luis Amador, his brother, Rodolfo Amador and his sister, Emma Villarreal.
Mr. Amador is survived by four daughters, Nelda (Juan Jose) Moreno of Raymondville, Mary J. (George) Pena of Houston, Mattie Tijerina of Raymondville and Maricela (Joel) Juarez of Raymondville; two sons, Juan (Bonnie) Amador, Jr. of Austin and Bobby (Gina) Amador of Eden, North Carolina; six brothers, Seferino Amador, Luis Amador, Enrique Amador, Miguel Amador, Carlos Amador, and Ruben Amador, all of Kingsville; and two sisters, Conception Hinojosa and Consuelo Amador of Kingsville.
Visitation was held Sunday, June 17, 2007, from 1 p.m. through 9 p.m. At the Hernandez Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. A second visitation was held Monday, June 18, 2007, from 9 a.m. Until departure for a funeral Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. At Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Raymondville. Interment followed at Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hernandez Funeral Home in Raymondville.
