Eagles soccer team soar over San Antonio Lutheran

- By Elisa Godinez

The Presbyterian Pan American Eagles soccer team beat San Antonio Lutheran High School 5-0 on Sept. 14.
The District game was hosted by Lutheran High School and played in San Antonio at the Pepsi field.
In the first half of the game, Juan Francisco Saldivar, 18-year-old senior, scored the first goal of the game. Javier Aguado, 16-year-old junior, scored one goal and Luis Gallardo, 16-year-old junior, scored two more goals for PPAS.
“It was my first game that I played almost the full game. I was very excited because I was on the bench at first and I scored both goals to help the team,” Gallardo said.
In the second half, Rolando Garcia, 17-year-old senior, scored the final goal.
Alan De Leon, 17-year-old senior, said that Lutheran High School taught him a lesson--that we never have to give up and that he needs to try harder with his studies so he can play soccer.
“Even though we were winning, the other team never gave up, they seemed to try harder each time that we scored a goal, and that impressed me a lot,” De Leon said.
