Gator warning

- Warning signs are being posted at Dick Kleberg Park along the edge of Escondido Creek warning park patrons to beware of alligators, Kleberg County Parks and Recreation Director Susan Ivy said today.
A higher than usual number of sightings of alligators at the water’s edge of the park have also been reported to the city-county health department and the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Department.
Ivy said Texas Parks and Wildlife officials told her the increased sightings of alligators are happening throughout the South Texas area because of heavy spring and summer rainfall.
Ivy said parks and wildlife personnel said that under no circumstance should anyone attempt to capture the gators.
