Monday's Internet Edition, March 15, 2010.
This program started 10 years ago to honor businesses that are committed to integrity, customers, and communities, and the nominations were made by members of the public. Winners are selected by a panel of five judges, each representing Del Mar College, Coastal Bend College, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, and a past Torch Award winner. This was the second year that Turcotte-Piper Mortuary has been a finalist for the Torch Award. John Rudel, location manager for Turcotte-Piper Mortuary and market manager of the Dignity Memorial network of funeral homes, and Jane Williams, administrative assistant, appeared on KIII-TV First Edition News Tuesday morning where Rudel was interviewed along with the metro winner, Floyd’s Christian Family Restaurant. Turcotte-Piper Mortuary was founded in 1975 by Andy and Denease Turcotte on the work ethic, “treat every family as if they are your own, and never turn anyone away”. Since its inception, Turcotte-Piper Mortuary has maintained the highest ethical standards and commitment to service excellence as evidenced by the company’s receiving the prestigious Better Business Bureau Torch Award. |
