Bishop boy negative for West Nile virus

By Maria Rodriguez - The family of a three year old Bishop boy who was believed to have contracted the West Nile Virus has received notice from the Centers for Disease Control that he was not infected with the virus.
The first test sent to a lab in Minnesota came back positive for West Nile.
A second test set up by the Texas Department of Health Services came back as a mosquito born disease and the third test sent to CDC in Atlanta, Ga., came back negative for West Nile Virus.
“ Not sure what happened, but I believe in prayer and nothing is impossible for Christ,” said mother of the boy.
She said he is doing fine.
“It is like nothing happened,” she said.
She also said the family is very grateful everything turned out for the better.
She advises the community to not ignore the symptoms and to get routine check-ups at the doctor’s office.
