King Ranch acquires Texas-based operations of Turfgrass America

- King Ranch, Inc. announced today that it has acquired the name and substantially all of the Texas-based assets of Turfgrass America. This includes 14 individual turfgrass farms and six retail distribution centers located throughout the State.
“This acquisition represents a major investment in the turfgrass industry for our company,” Jack Hunt, President and Chief Executive Officer of King Ranch, stated.
“When combined with our existing turfgrass operations in Florida and Texas, we will have a total of approximately 13,000 gross acres,” he said.
“We are pleased to be the largest grower of turfgrass in Texas and certainly one of the largest in the country,” Hunt said.
King Ranch has been in the turfgrass business for over 20 years with a commitment to quality and service.
Its customer base includes home builders, landscape contractors, nurseries, golf course developers, athletic facilities, retail home improvement stores, and private individuals.
