Kingsville man is charged with sexually assaulting daughter

- A Kingsville man charged with aggravated assault of a child, has been released on bond after spending about a month in the Kleberg County Jail.
He has been charged with sexually assaulting his 14-year-old daughter.
Luis De Leon, 37, was jailed June 17 and he eventually posted a $75,000 bond, law enforcement officials said Monday.
Child Protective Services spokesperson Chris Van Deusen said Monday that five children were removed from their place of residence where their mother, Rosemary Tejeda, 36, and De Leon lived. Van Deusen said three of the children are living in foster homes and two are in emergency shelters until more foster homes are available.
Van Deusen stated the children were removed from the home for “allegations of serious sexual abuse by the father, sexual abuse by the mother and serious risk of physical abuse by the mother and father.”
“The mother also has allegations of neglect of the children,” Van Deusen said. CPS court records stated the mother was blaming the victim.
The children include three girls, ages 8, 10, and 14 and two boys, ages 12 and 13.
CPS court records stated that the 14-year-old girl “made a sexual abuse outcry at her father Luis De Leon and he had sexually assaulted her four times within the last four months.”
The statements were made during an interview by a child advocate at the Child Advocacy Center in Corpus Christi on May 24.
Van Deusen said he did not know when the next CPS court date would be concerning this case.
